World Pharmacist Day was established by the Council of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) at the World Congress of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Istanbul, Turkey in 2009. September 25 is chosen as World Pharmacist Day because FIP was born on this day in 1912.
We will remind you that Benjamin Franklin was a pharmacist and so was Agatha Christie. Coca-Cola was invented by a pharmacist named John Pemberton. The first licensed pharmacist opened a store in the French Quarter. The world pharmaceutical market is estimated at 300 billion dollars.
